Youth Preview Night and Parent Orientation
The rising 7th graders (current 6th graders) are invited to the youth preview night on Wednesday, May 2 from 5:30 to 7:30. They will be able to participate in a normal night of Rendezvous to get ready for the upcoming school year. Rendezvous is the title of our Youth Ministry Wednesday night activities which involve fellowship and bible study. New parents to POPC youth are invited for a parent orientation from 5:30 to 7:30 in the Haven Bistro, Room 113.
Family Night Supper
Family Night Supper is this Sunday night, April 29, at 5:30 pm in the Multi-purpose building. Please bring enough food to feed your family well and plenty to share! The church will provide chicken and ice cream. (We will not need as many desserts since ice cream will be provided.)
Cherub Choir
Mark your calendars! On Sunday, April 15th, Cherub Choir will meet at 5:30 p.m. at Ridgeland Pointe Assisted Living Home behind the church. We will sing for the residents, and then walk back to the church for our regular choir rehearsal.
Visitor’s Luncheon
Women’s Ministries would like to invite all regular visitors and Inquirer class members and their families to our Spring Luncheon to be held in the cafeteria on Sunday, April 15th immediately following the 10:25 a.m. worship service. Maundy Thursday Communion Service
Please join us Thursday, April 5 at 6:30 P.M. The Thursday before Easter came to be called “Maundy” as the term is derived from the Latin mandatum or commandment referring to John 13:34, “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another.” Jesus gave this commandment to his disciples after washing their feet and sharing a meal with them at the Last Supper before His crucifixion. We will observe the Lord’s Supper and meditate on Christ’s suffering, crucifixion and death through scripture reading, congregational song and music by the Sanctuary choir and orchestra. What a wonderful opportunity to more fully prepare our hearts to celebrate our Savior’s glorious resurrection on Easter Sunday! Please plan to attend and prepare your hearts for this special service of worship. A nursery is provided for ages 2 and under.
Easter Lilies
Lilies will be placed in the sanctuary on Easter Sunday, April 8. If you would like to place a lily in memory or in honor of someone, please fill out one of the forms located around the sanctuary. The cost is $15.00 and these may be picked up after the 10:25 a.m. service on Easter.
Vacation Bible School
VBS will be here before we know it! The dates for VBS Summer 2012 are July 16-20. Please be in prayer about how you might be able to help in sharing the gospel with children in our church and community!
Women in Prayer
Our Women in Prayer are meeting at a new time: 10:00-12:00 on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the Reflectors Classroom. All ladies are welcome to join these prayer warriors in praying for the staff, missionaries and ministries of POPC. God works through the prayers of His saints. The Margarets in Concert
The Margarets will be in concert on March 6th at Trace Ridge Baptist Church at 238 Lake Harbour Drive in Ridgeland. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Please come and support The Margarets and invite a friend!
