Shepherding

One of the most important roles of the elders and deacons is to provide shepherding care for every member of Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church. As officers, we are called to:

• Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care (1 Peter 5:2)
• Be shepherds of the church which he bought with his own blood (Acts 20:28)

To carry out this responsibility, every member at Pear Orchard is assigned to an elder and deacon for shepherding.  Our Shepherds desire to know their members well, serve them in Christ and pray for them on a regular basis.

Members are highly encouraged to open their lives to their Shepherds and call on them frequently.   Also, members are encouraged to pray for their Shepherds.

• Shepherds keep watch over you as men who must give an account to God (Hebrews 13:17)
