One of the joys and privileges of being brothers and sisters in Christ is loving and serving one another in times of need. Our church family is experiencing an unprecedented need for meals. We need cooked meals (you may team up with someone else to provide these), frozen entrées to be placed in our freezer in the parlor, and/or money for gift cards. We have many faithful ladies who participate in this ministry, but we are asking everyone to prayerfully consider participating as well. Joy Lurate will be sending an email this week with more specific information on how you can help.
The Toy Exchange will be held July 30 – July 31 in the Multi-Purpose Bldg. This is a consignment sale for gently used toys and baby equipment with the proceeds benefiting Christ Covenant School and the children’s programs at POPC. It is a great way to recycle items that are still in good condition and get “like new” items at discounted prices. There are fliers with all the information on the Nursery Desk in the Ed. Bldg. If you would like to put items in the sale or if you would like to volunteer during the set-up on Monday or Tuesday or during the sale on Wednesday and Thursday, please contact Mary Lou at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You’re invited to a youth led worship service next Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Come to see the summer slideshow and to hear testimonies of what God has done through the ministry this year. Please mark this night on your calendar and be sure to share with us in this unique worship service. Youth, please wear a youth t-shirt to support the ministry!
Inquirers Class begins Wednesday, September 3rd at 6:30 pm. Pastor Carl will teach a nine-week class for all those who have visited POPC and are interested in learning more, growing in their love of Christ and considering membership in this church. We will meet in Room 238. Please email Carl (email@example.com) to let him know if you plan to attend and if you will have childcare needs.
Due to changing ministry needs, the Session has approved the following moves over the course of the summer: A reduced-size reference-oriented Church Library is being moved to the back of the Sanctuary. Starting in September, the former Church library (Room 127) will become an adult Sunday School class (Reflectors) as well as a scheduled room for Bible studies, etc. The Encouragers Sunday School class will meet in Room 238, which will also be used for conference meetings. As Room 127 is being renovated, the library books left in center of the room may be taken for your own personal library on a first come, first served basis.
