It’s official! The Sanctuary Renovation Project is scheduled to begin during the month of February with a five month construction duration. We begin worship in the Multi-Purpose Building at 10:25 a.m. on Sunday, February 21! During the renovation, there will not be an 8:00 service. To this end, the Diaconate has established a MPB Worship Transition committee to oversee and take part in the weekly setup of the gym for worship. We are seeking as many volunteers as possible to be a part of rotating set-up teams. Our goal would be for each team to be responsible for one Sunday a month or even every other month with enough participation. This would be a great way to serve the body of Christ during this time of transition. Please contact Ron McMaster if you would be willing to serve (email@example.com) (Cell-662-571-8496), or the church office.
Inquirers Class begins THIS Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 pm. Pastor Carl will teach an eight-week class for all those who have visited POPC, are interested in learning more, and are considering membership here. We will meet in Room 127. Please call Jan Duran in the church office and let her know if you plan to attend and if you will have childcare needs.
Communicants Class begins February 14: This is a class for children and youth who are considering professing faith in Christ. The class meets for seven weeks at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. There are applications located around the sanctuary. Call the church office to register.
POPC has many upcoming opportunities for our youth to fellowship, study God’s word, and serve ~ A new Wednesday Night Study, RYM, and a Super Bowl Party just to name a few! Visit our Announcements page for details.
Prayer and help is requested for the Boswell Family. The Boswell’s home burned entirely the Monday morning of January 18, 2016. As you uphold them in prayer in this trying affliction, there are two ways you can be of significant help. First, our church has officially designated the Boswell family as a Benevolence Ministry of the Church. This allows tax-deductible gifts to be sent to the church (checks made out to the church) and designated for the Boswells. Every penny of those gifts will go to them. Secondly, with the Boswell’s input, a website, www.lovingtheboswells.com, has been created with ways you can contribute. Let’s love them well!
