Vacation Bible School was a rousing success! This year, over 260 children investigated God’s word together as they helped the Scottish Sleuths solve the “The Case of the Faithful Fighter.” Many thanks go to over 135 faithful volunteers who demonstrated Christ’s love and service to our covenant children and visitors alike. Special thanks go to our VBS Directors Kristi Clark and Jennifer White who wonderfully coordinated this year’s VBS. Let’s be in prayer that the seeds that were planted in the hearts of the children who attended would bear much fruit.
July is Men’s Choir Month! All men (2nd grade and up) are invited to join us for our last Wednesday night rehearsals on July 23. We will meet in the choir room at 6:30 p.m. and will sing in the 10:25 a.m. service on the following Sunday. Come and enjoy fellowship and music-making with your brothers in Christ.
Would you like to get your email inbox to zero and keep it there? On Thursday, July 24, from 11:30-1:30, Pastor Caleb will be teaching a seminar in the Gym/Multi-Purpose Building on “Redeeming the Time and Following Through,” thinking about what God’s word says about effective productivity, and explaining the practical methodology of David Allen’s book Getting Things Done. Anyone who desires to gain fresh perspective on life management and organization can benefit from this seminar. Bring your own lunch to eat during the seminar, and please invite your friends from the community.
Officer nominations are being taken through July 27. Please prayerfully consider your nominations of men for the office of Elder or Deacon according to the Biblical qualifications given in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Nomination forms are available near the entrances and exits of the Sanctuary building. Nominations may be placed in the offering plate, Pastor Carl’s box, given to a pastor or mailed to the church. No nominations will be accepted beyond evening worship of July 27 for any reason. (Nomination forms are two-sided: the elders on one side and the deacons on the other.)
Attention Men: You should have recently received a letter on forming men’s small groups. To help facilitate the process of forming these groups, the men’s ministry team of the Pear Orchard session has created an online survey that we would like all of the men at POPC to complete. Regardless of your current participation in a men’s small group please go online and complete the following survey: https://popc.wufoo.com/forms/popc-mens-ministry-survey/.
