Vacation Bible School was a rousing success! This year, over 260 children and 60 Sonbeams adults investigated God’s word together as they helped the Scottish Sleuths solve the “The Case of the Short-Handed Saviors.” Many thanks go to over 130 faithful volunteers who demonstrated Christ’s love and service to our covenant children and visitors alike and many thanks to all the people who brought food for the volunteers! Special thanks go to our VBS Director, Kristi Clark, and her Assistant Director, Angela Morrison, who wonderfully coordinated this year’s VBS. Let’s be in prayer that the seeds that were planted in the hearts of the children who attended would bear much fruit.
July is Men’s Choir Month! This Wednesday night, July 27, all men (rising 2nd grade and up) are invited to join us for rehearsal from 6:30-7:30 in the Choir Room (138) in the Ed. Bldg. The Mens Choir will sing Sunday following their Wednesday rehearsal. Come and enjoy fellowship and music-making with your brothers in Christ. Questions? Please contact Margaret Sprow, 941.8506, margaret@-pearorchard.org.
Office Nominations are being taken through July 31st. Please prayerfully consider your nominations of men for the office of Elder or Deacon according to the Biblical qualifications given in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Nomination forms are available near the entrances and exits of the Sanctuary building. Nominations may be placed in the offering plate, Pastor Carl’s box, given to a pastor or mailed to the church. No nominations will be accepted beyond evening worship of July 31 for any reason. Nomination forms are two-sided: the elders on one side and the deacons on the other. They may be found on the music stands in the gym.
The Music Ministry is pleased to announce that upon the return to our redecorated Sanctuary, we will begin to establish a Sanctuary Choir in the early service. We invite those of you who already attend the early service and have musical gifts to prayerfully consider participating with us in this endeavor. We’ll begin by identifying potential singers for the early service and incorporating them into our regular choir rehearsal. Lord willing, you will soon begin to see and hear a choir at both morning services more and more frequently. Our goal is to have one joint rehearsal on Wednesday and two choirs (one for each service) on Sunday mornings. The choirs will combine for special services of worship like Christmas and Easter. For more information, contact Margaret Sprow, email@example.com.
